IBIZA TOWN (EIVISSA)

Ibiza Town is the capital of the Balearic Island of Ibiza, and is one of the oldest and best preserved medieval towns in the whole of Europe. BEACHES
Most Ibiza beaches are long and sandy often with little rocky islets off shore. There are three beaches within walking distance of Ibiza town:
Playa D'en luxury villas Ibiza Bossa is two km from the centre of Eivissa and is the longest beach of the island. It is well-known for having two of the best after-hours discos in the world - 'Space' and 'Bora Bora'.
Figueretas is made up of several smaller beaches. Near here you can find some of the most inexpensive holiday rentals in Ibiza and there are many restaurants and bars nearby.
Talamanca is about one km from the center of Ibiza Town and separated only by the light house causeway of Botafoc. It is a relatively quiet beach and you can find reasonably priced holiday accommodation here including hostels, hotels and Ibiza holiday apartments.
FOOD
For those staying in apartment or villa holiday rentals, Ibiza Town has a huge number of eateries from which to choose. There are places to eat in every conceivable setting - the quayside, high in the hills, on the beach or in the town. Due to the many cultures that have passed through Ibiza over the years, there are scores of different dishes that now make up the gastronomy of the island. Fish and fruit are abundant and crop up as an ingredient in many dishes. Local dishes to try include sopa del menuts (an offal soup), partridge served with cabbage, fried octopus and fish soups. If you are staying in self-catering Ibiza holiday apartments or holiday villas in Ibiza town you will find that you can eat out quite cheaply. Many restaurants have a special lunchtime menu which can cost less than 10 Euros for three courses with wine. Restaurants are open for lunch from around 1pm to 4pm and for dinner from around 8pm as the Spanish tend to dine quite late.
FESTIVALS
Ibiza celebrates many festivals throughout the year, all with different themes including the Santa Eularia festival at the beginning of May and the bonfires and fireworks across Ibiza around 23rd June to herald the coming of summer. If you book your holiday rentals in Ibiza around 10th July you will be able to see some fantastic firework displays during the Festival of Sant Cristofol in Es Canar. Also in July every year there is a terrific jazz festival in Ibiza Town.
SHOPPING
If you fancy a bit of 'retail therapy' whilst staying in your holiday rentals in Ibiza, then Ibiza Town will be your idea of heaven! There is a fantastic selection of high quality shops to suit all tastes and requirements. They say that Ibiza Town has the greatest concentration of boutiques in one small area than just about anywhere else in the world. You can even shop late into the evening in the old Town of Ibiza. In the high season the shops in the port do not close until well after midnight so if you book holiday villas in Ibiza town you are well placed to do a bit of moonlight shopping!
NIGHTLIFE
Many people book holiday rentals in Ibiza Town because of its renowned nightlife with its many bars, discos and nightclubs. The evening for most visitors starts in the Sa Penya district where many of the bars open from early evening to around 3am. Nightclubs like the well-known 'Pacha' do not open until about midnight and stay open until about 6am. Night time entertainment can be quite pricey as the entrance fees for the big, popular clubs can be very expensive (from about 30 Euros upwards) so make sure you have plenty of money with you or alternatively buy your tickets beforehand online.
